Plow tips, catches fire
12/27/2008
Fillmore, MI - FILLMORE TOWNSHIP -- An Allegan County Road Commission plow truck tipped onto its side Friday, causing a small fire, after the plow blade snagged on railroad tracks just south of Holland. The driver climbed out of the truck and used an extinguisher to put out the fire. He was not hurt, county Road Commission Director Bill Nelson said. The accident occurred about 2:30 p.m. as the truck spread salt on 52nd Avenue between 143rd and 144th streets. Damage to the track, which runs to Hamilton, was not immediately known.
